Triumph on the dance floor!

Today was the third dance class, and as Lily got up this morning, I was worried. I got her pink tights out and her leotard and she started to fuss..."no jammies!" I told her not to worry, that this was her leotard and she was going to dance with Grace today. She then started crying harder and said "No music! No music!" and twisted her legs like a pretzel to try and keep me from putting her tights on. I prevailed.
Last week for her second class, I had gotten there early and we watched through the glass as several other classes danced, and Lily had loved to watch them. But as it came time to get her Star on a Stick, she got the rubber legs and I had to drag her like a sandbag into the class room. Having filled and dragged 200 sandbags with my dad at the lake one year, I knew the technique and skillfully got her through the door. But based on that, I was not looking forward to this week, since she recognized the outfit before we left the house. We again went early, and watched the other kids. She had calmed down and refused her Star on a Stick like always, but walked sobbing under her own power into the classroom. Lo and behold, she stopped crying after around 5 minutes and she did stuff!! She participated and held props and held other kids hands and squealed and in general, had a great time!!!! I have attached a few videos below showing this week's fun. I have also decided it was due to the Magic Leotard she got from Ellen for her birthday. If only I had known this, she would have worn it from day one. I may never take it off of her....

This second video shows some of the "solo" galloping they do - I got a segment of Lily then her friend Grace.

And the grand finale with the drumsticks. Now I know why Lily was using this move last night when she launched a chopstick in the middle of Yuki's Restaurant.... My apologies, Yuki's...
