The party begins

We had Lily's party the Saturday after her birthday - luckily this year there weren't any tornado warnings like last year! We again copied the Carneys' good idea and met at a local park for cake and ice cream. Lily had four of her little friends there - Braden, Grace, Lilli and Drew. They had fun playing on the playground, burning off some energy before cake time. (For those detail oriented readers, yes the outfit looks very similar to the outfit she wore to Grace's party, but how can you have a Mickey party and not wear your Mickey overalls....)

Lily did a good job blowing out her candle...pay no attention to the fact that I look like I am helping. I am certain it was all her. After looking at Mi-Mouse all day, she was very excited that it was time to eat!

With a little help from Daddy, Lily chowed down on cake and ice cream. Thanks to Michelle's skillful cutting, we ate the entire Minnie Mouse. Unfortunately, that did leave an entire Mickey that went home with us. But the good news is, I still work enough at Kassouf to warrant bringing food in, so my co-workers polished off the remaining mouse that Monday!

Gifts were opened, and Lily definitely loved her new bunny. She is very fond of stuffed animals and has MANY, but there is always room for a new favorite! She sleeps with about 6-10 stuffed animals in her bed on a given night. And there is a small stuffed zoo in the back seat of my car. Sometimes they cycle in and out as new animals are in need of a ride or a nap.

To be continued in the next post - there was a limit to photo uploads...
